Best Website Builder for Designing your Website

When building your website/blog you have to start at the beginning.
The beginning of this process is establishing where to build your website. This may or may not be the most important question to ponder because it’s a commitment and there are a lot of options!

Three of the most popular builders are:

  1. WordPress
  2. Wix
  3. Squarespace

Let’s quickly compare!

I am personally biased to WordPress because I have used it since the beginning of my career and it has served me well.

Reasons why I love WordPress:

  • No start up costs. If you don’t have a domain yet, you can create a forever free account on
  • If you do have a domain, you can easily integrate WordPress on your hosting account. (I love and use Godaddy.)
  • Thousands of FREE and paid templates. (Which are all mobile responsive. Don’t let that be a selling tool.)
  • Ideal for large growth
  • Flexibility
  • Your site’s sitemap is automatically sent to all major search engines for indexing. (This is how you get found online.)

  • Beginner friendly. Easy to use!
  • Free set up! Url will contain Wix (just as WordPress) and Wix logo will be visible throughout site until you upgrade to paid account.
  • Drag and drop builder WYSIWYG. What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get
  • Free templates
  • Low start up costs
  • eCommerce integration with $24 monthly plan
  • 100s of templates. You can’t change once you choose!
  • Not all are mobile friendly aka mobile responsive.
  • No customer service chat support. (When learning a new interface, this is very important to me, though there are support docs you can search through!)

  • 40 templates “Quality Over Quantity”.
  • Interchange templates easily! Your content will be saved as opposed to Wix.
  • live chat with customer support! (Important for beginners!)
  • Unlimited bandwidth.

Wix and Squarespace are most similar in that being that they have WYSIWYG design interfaces. Read more about the differences between Wix and Squarespace here:
